1 in 4 Texans Have Unclaimed Money

According KXAN in Austin, Texas about 1 in 4 Texans have assets that the Texas State Treasurer is holding for them---because the funds remain unclaimed.

In 2008, the state returned $147 million in the Texas Treasury Hunt---but for some individuals the hassle of reclaiming small amounts of funds isn't worth the time required to get the money.

The money is from stocks, bonds, payrolls or cashiers checks.
