Search for Abandoned Property & Missing Money in Massachusetts
For current or ex-residents of Massachusetts or Boston, you can search to see if you, your family member or business has unclaimed assets waiting to be claimed.
In many years the state collects over $200 million per year in unclaimed funds---funds roll over to the state after 3 years of dormancy for most assets (15 years for travelers checks).
You can keep your accounts form going inactive by making sure you keep your addresses current with all of financial accounts, and if you have a deposit account---deposit at least $1 on an annual basis to make sure it doesn't get turned over to the state.
